I would like to thank Derek and his amazing crew at Drainscope for the professional and meticulous job they did replacing the perimeter drainage system for my 105 year old house. My initial meeting with Derek set the stage for many subsequent communications. He began by giving me options, and I quickly came to believe that I was dealing with someone who had integrity. Derek and the crew kept me involved in decision making as needed, and were ever so patient at re-explaining things to me! Good coordination with the city was very important for establishing appropriate depths, as well as for permits and inspections etc. and Derek’s efficiency, hard work, and collaborative attitude made this go smoothly. Similarly there was a good working relationship with plumbing and gutter replacement companies who did their part when needed. The Drainscope crew worked diligently every day, were polite, friendly and professional. I was always amazed at how tidy the yard looked after they left each day. They were careful about so many things including Don’s watering of the plants that needed to be temporarily moved, and then replanting them when the job was done. Colin did a wonderful job replacing, and in fact, improving sections of the pathway that had been removed while digging the trenches. When the job was completed Derek gave me a package with the approved inspections, a detailed map of the house with sewer lines, storm drain clean-outs (more than code required), backflow etc., recommendations for regular maintenance, as well as colored photos of the work as it was being carried out at various stages. I can’t say enough about how thorough Drainscope was in its work on my home and I will certainly be recommending them to anyone who needs to use any of their services.
I recently had Drain Scope come and do a trenchless installation of a new sewer pipe. I can’t say enough about how impressed I was with this company right from the start.
My sewer had backed up and I was told by another company that had come to clear the blockage that I needed a new sewer pipe. They said the job was too big for them. I called several companies and got some estimates. I called Drain Scope for an estimate and spoke with Derek Rathwell. He took the time to answer all my questions and made sure that I understood exactly what needed to be done. I had concerns about the exposed aggregate sidewalk and the repairs that would be needed when the sidewalk was cut. Derek explained how it would be repaired. He had one of his staff come and scope the drain and then he provided me with a detailed estimate in a very timely manner. At the time they were extremely busy as there had been a lot of rain, but he made sure that mine was done as soon as possible in order to avoid any further problems. They came when they said they would. Colin, Brett, Don and Jonathan came as they were using a new machine with a smaller footprint and Derek wanted them all to see how it worked. Derek stopped by the job 3 times during the day to make sure everything was going as planned.
All of the employees were excellent. If I had questions they answered them. I was also impressed that Derek stopped by at the end of the day. He helped the guys take the equipment away and made sure that I was happy with the work. Everything was tidy when they left. They used protective mats so there wasn’t any damage to my lawn. I was extremely pleased with the cement work that was done by Allen Mobey that Drain Scope hired for the repairs. I also asked them to check my perimeter drains. Johnathan came by a few days later. He had a difficult job with them as they hadn’t been checked in over 25 years. There were lots of roots and it was a ! difficult job to get them all out. He called me when the job was completed and gave me a verbal report of what he had done. He sent me a detailed report with drawings of where the drains were and some pictures of the drains.
Drain Scope charged me a reasonable price, came when they said they would, did what was expected and left everything tidy when they left. I can’t say enough about how impressed I was with the service they provided! I’ve recommended them to several friends.
Accolade for Drain scope. Drain Scope have just completed a job for us and we are writing to tell you what a marvelous team of professionals they are !! they were on time, they saved last week what could have been a much bigger problem in the basement initially, they did what was needed, they cleared and cleaned up, replaced all the garden, the fence, and even took the mud off the gate. That is impressive, and we will in the future have no hesitation in calling Drain Scope to maintain the drain tile, and to share with anyone and everyone what a great job they have done.
