49 Below Craft Ice Cream has been available at grocery stores and online since 2015. Now with a storefront in Oak Bay, it is quickly becoming a household name. The name is in reference to Victoria's location below the 49th parallel and is a play on the frozen nature of ice cream. Spending the first 7 years growing alongside the owner's young family, 49 Below was originally focused on providing ice cream by delivery through a monthly subscription, and selling wholesale to local shops, cafes and restaurants. The next step in their evolution is opening up a physical storefront where they will both make and sell their ice cream. Their location in Oak Bay, between Slater's First Class Meats and Willows Pizza, will add to the already well-established Willows Centre.
