 UNPROFESSIONAL & DISHONEST!! My recent encounter with Sean Tisdall, the owner of Cats Eye Contracting, and his associates was highly disappointing. We paid a premium for a corner lot in their development, but the lack of professionalism and integrity displayed throughout the entire process was appalling. From the beginning, Sean and his team refused to pave the smaller gravel road in front of our purchased corner lot. They insisted on us changing our house plans and tearing up the foundation forms and replacing them with ones that included the front door, garage and driveway face the already-paved road, despite the city's policy stating otherwise. Furthermore, due to the lot's unique long and narrow shape, the city had confirmed that no other house plans would be approved. Their demands were unjustifiable and solely motivated by their reluctance to invest in paving the small (30ft) road. Months of frustration and delays followed as we became entangled in a conflict between Sean, his associates, and the city. Finally, the city had to step in and mandate them to pave the road, resulting in significant delays and financial burden for us. Regrettably, we never received any compensation for these extra costs. To add insult to injury, when we asked for the return of our $5,000 landscaping deposit once our house (and landscaping) was finished, Sean and his associates audaciously stated it would be used to cover the cost of the roadwork. This blatant breach of contract showed a total disrespect for their responsibilities, leaving us deeply disillusioned. Their exact response was: "Your deposit has gone towards the 85k extension we never planned or budgeted towards." I strongly caution anyone considering doing business with Cats Eye Contracting. Sean's unethical practices, broken promises, and lack of professionalism have caused us immense disappointment, heartache, and financial loss amounting to more than $10k. Protect yourself by opting for a contractor who respects their clients and consistently fulfills their contractual duties.
